In Uruguay, schools are closed for two weeks due to a respiratory virus outbreak.
The National Administration of Public Education informed that as from 3 July classes will be held virtually.
This period will be followed by the week of winter holidays, starting on 17 July, for a total of 21 days of preventive distancing.
The authorities are seeking to avoid infection among students at the pre-school and primary level.
The Ministry of Health had requested this measure due to an increase in respiratory infections in children.
