The future Foreign Minister Diana Mondino announced that Argentina will not join the BRICS, the bloc of emerging economies comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
This was confirmed on the social network X by the future official of President-elect Javier Milei.
Mondino said she "sees no advantages" for the country if it joins the BRICS.
She then clarified to the press that this does not mean backtracking with the incorporation to the group, because this "was never approved".
It should be recalled that in August, the founding members of the bloc approved Argentina's incorporation, something that the government of outgoing President Alberto Fernández celebrated.
