Renowned actor Ricardo Darín confirmed his participation in the long-awaited screen adaptation of the iconic Argentine comic strip "El Eternauta".
On social networks, the actor announced: "we are about to start the project", which will be directed by filmmaker Bruno Stagnaro.
The production is by Netflix and will be a series.
It does not yet have a premiere date and has no known cast other than Darín, who starred in the Oscar-winning "El Secreto de sus Ojos".
"El Eternauta" is a comic strip by screenwriter Héctor Oesterheld, with illustrations by Francisco Solano López, first published in 1957.
Darín will play the main character, Juan Salvo, who leads a group of survivors in the context of an alien invasion that hits Buenos Aires.
